The Brief
Volvo came to 21st Century AV ltd as it’s preferred Audio Visual Partner to design and install the cutting edge Audio Visual system into it’s new £6 million training and development centre in Daventry.
The new centre replaces the 35-year-old original site and Volvo Car UK head of customer relations and quality, stated that if the brand expects dealers to upgrade to the latest Volvo Retail Experience corporate identity standards (VRE), then the company needed lead the way with its own facilities.

The new training facility represents a significant commitment to both our operations in Daventry and our retailer network throughout the country. The site is a fitting accompaniment to Volvo’s transformation into a true premium car brand that is a technological leader, as well as the big improvements we are introducing to the customer experience.
The Solution
Workshop Area
Screens installed in the workshop bays had to be compatible with Volvo’s VIDA System. A solution that lets you show independent content while letting you share content from the VIDA machines.
Meeting Rooms
Looking to standardise their meeting rooms across multiple floors using CleverTouch Interactive screens to give an interactive experience into their training rooms. With many meeting rooms a room booking system was introduced to integrate into Volvo’s internal network.
Reception
As the arrival area for training delegates, business users and visitors, the reception areas had to provide welcome information, details on courses running on the day, room locations and trainer information while being discreet. Installing multiple digital signage displays was the best solution to get information across without taking focus away from the vehicles.
Auditorium
Used for Volvo’s training centres delegates, a projection solution was the answer to this space. A 3m wide projection screen was mounted with an ultra high brightness Epson projector. With the solution being strong enough to combat the high ambient lighting pollution from the glass vaulted ceilings and many ceiling lights. Audio was solved with wall mounted speakers for presentations and voice reinforcement. To take control of the room Crestron Control solution was installed with an IPad as the controller.
