AV Technical Project Manager

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 – based on experience.

Location: Based in Reading, Berkshire office

Hours: Monday to Friday – 09.00hrs -17.30hrs. (hour for lunch)

Permanent position: Immediate start

The role of the Technical Project Manager to be a leader within the operations department. They are the strongest technical figure head within the team. They manage and strengthen the delivery of all projects within the business and execute the company core values at all times.

The Team

The 21st Century AV operations department is responsible for all online delivery from various online stores, all service contracts with our premier customers along with execution and excellent delivery of all projects from site surveys to multiple phase/week installations with our own engineers and sub contract engineers.

Objectives and Goals

Overall Responsibility

  • Manage projects with an administrative team to a high standard, excellent customer service, quality on site and protection of margins.
  • Ensure service contract standards and SLAs are adhered to and the service manager is covering all logs.
  • Manage all engineers, in house and external, and the appropriate insurances, vehicles and PPE when required.
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of all company products, services and business processes as well as having a high level of technical knowledge to deliver solutions accurately.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Manage margins/budgets of each project
  • Ensure quality of equipment, cables, quotes, and engineers adhere to 21st Century AV standard.
  • Alongside the administrators, organise and deliver all projects to our standards.
  • Technical specification of all jobs, cables schedules and drawings where required.
  • Ensure all R & M and training are kept up to date
  • Overall management of service contracts alongside a designated engineer
  • Demonstrate pro-active behaviour in driving repeat business through quality work and customer delight.

Solution Design/Technical check

  • Display a high technical understanding of all the company’s products and services.
  • Attend supplier and vendor training sessions to ensure they are up to date on all technology and products.
  • Where required, become certified on supplier/manufacturer accreditations to bolster the company standing with that supplier/manufacturer.
  • Identify gaps in skills, knowledge, processes and work with Managing Director to plug these gaps.

Metrics and KPIs are designed to help the individual and department focus on project delivery and to ensure the right behaviours and attitudes.

  • 100% of projects to be delivered and signed off as per processes and quality checks alongside margin protections and budgets
  • Strong and pro-active support for all colleagues when out of the office So the department runs effectively
  • maintaining and developing the operations department with relation to colleagues, engineers and technical development.
  • Accurate and timely updates on all projects
